Anthony Bahadur BSc(Hons) MCOptom Dip Tp (IP) Prof Cert Glauc

Senior Specialist Optometrist
Anthony is one of the owners of Pople & Broad Opticians and an Independent prescribing Specialist Optometrist. He has been in practice since 1999 after graduating from Aston University. He showed flare in professional training and became a College of Optometrists Supervisor and practice owner by the age of 28. He also worked for East Sussex NHS trust as a Glaucoma and Macula Degeneration specialist. Anthony enjoys all aspects of Optometry particularly helping patients with eye conditions that need medical prescribing.

Amanda Bahadur BSc (Hons) MCOptom Dip Tp (IP) Prof Cert Glauc SVUK

Senior Specialist Optometrist
Amanda Bahadur is one of the practice owners at Pople & Broad Opticians and a Senior Specialist Optometrist. She has been in practice since 2002 after graduating from Bradford University. Amanda enjoys all aspects of Optometry and specialises in helping children with more complex eye problems and is a qualified School Vision Practitioner. Amanda gained her professional certificate in Glaucoma in 2019 and her Independent Prescribing Qualification in 2022. She is actively involved in professional training and development and is known for her friendly caring nature.

Joanne Broad BSc (Hons) MCOptom Dip Tp (IP)

Senior Optometrist
Optometrist with over 30 years experience in eye care. Joanne offers a wealth of experience; she is one of our Senior optometrists , trained at Moorfields Eye Hospital.

Thirty years on and I am still very much enjoying and developing my career- I love the freedom I have working within an independent practice, utilising the very latest equipment that I know will benefit my patients and the fact that although I am busy I have time to chat a little too- or maybe even a lot!”

“I trained as an Optometrist at City University and qualified in 1994. I worked in Surrey and Hampshire for 18 years before relocating with my family to Rotherfield.

After a career break, during which I renovated our 16th Century cottage, I joined the practice, in 2017. I am enjoying getting to know the patients here and I am delighted to be a part of this team.”

Fiona has worked at Pople & Broad since 2016 as an Optical Assistant. She takes a keen interest in how the business runs and enjoys all aspects of her work particularly working with people and helping them fulfill their needs. She is also responsible for our fabulous window displays.

Miranda Davis

Senior Dispensing Advisor
Miranda offers a wealth of knowledge having worked in the Optical Industry since 2008. She excels at frame selection and enjoys encouraging her patients into a new style and building their confidence. She has a friendly and caring nature and in her spare time used to volunteer in a day centre for vulnerable, elderly people, spreading her cheer!

An excellent and well-run establishment. Briefly. In the run-up to Christmas I laboured under inflamed and irritated eyes. An initial examination revealed many tiny abrasions. It seemed simple. But the proprietress was suspicious and conducted further tests, also enquiring into apparently unrelated symptoms.
